New look…great blog…wonderful verses…

17 03 2008

Sorry for all the changes in the look of my blog…I changed a week or so ago because the black background was too dramatic and bringing me down…so I switched to a Granny Smith apple background…which seems more “springy” but I am not real pleased with the type…it seems a bit difficult to see…

So…let me know if you like this new look…I am going for a real clean simple look…something easy on the eyes…hope you like it..

While you are here…will you drop by Comfort Cafe…I  read a post yesterday called ”Feeling Confined?” that I keep thinking about…Ruth has great insight and I really love what she says about Peter sleeping…are you intrigued…then click away!

Have a blessed day…oh…I am still working on my verses from a week ago…it is a good one as we approach Easter!

“If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.

For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.

When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory.”

Colossians 1: 1-4 (AMP)

These are very powerful verses. I do get caught up in earthly concerns more often than I ought that’s for sure! I love that sense of being ‘hidden’, tucked away with God. It’s awe inspiring.

I love the new look!!!!!!!!!! Lovely, serene, classy, and like you said, easy on the eyes! Now Helen, I’ve never met you in person, but reading your blog for months now, I think this style fits you! It’s a keeper! Even the widgets in your sidebar (that’s what you call the sidebar images, right?) match perfectly.

And what wonderful verses to learn. Not only do we need to set our minds on things above, but KEEP them set. Last year before school each day, I asked my teen to read a few verses out loud from Proverbs in the Amplified. It made it special because when I prayed with him before he left for school, it gave me some very specific things to pray for. I think we need to get back to that again. :)

Well…looks like the new look is a keeper…thanks for helping with the makeover!

And thank you for clicking over to Comfort Cafe…what a great place to visit often.

Susan, what a great idea…Carl and I did some Proverb devotionals with the girls along time ago…but I like your idea of just taking a few verses in bite sized pieces….thanks!

Hello Helen

I was really blessed by the article at Comfort Cafe. I’m journaling about my prison. I’ve been so busy planning a jail break that I haven’t thought much about how God might want to use me IN the jail…

Sigh.

Happy Easter to you!
