With Caleb-The Jesus Storybook Bible-I love this Bible…it teaches that each and every story points to Jesus
With Courtney-we started this past summer but got a bit derailed-Do Hard Things
Richard Foster’s newest-Life with God
The Seven Storey Mountain-I have had this book for years…it is time to take it off the shelf
Be Still-a skinny little book packed with scripture and truths from Jesus calming the storm.
I finished this book on New Year’s Day…this book is small but it is mighty. I love how Cherie Hill has you think about different aspects of this really familiar scene in the gospels…I learned a lot. Also it is packed with scriptures…I mean packed. I think this book would be a really nice resource to have on hand to give to someone that can’t sort out life with Jesus in the midst of storms. I will have to get a new copy because mine is pretty lined up.
The Art of Divine Contentment-my dear lifelong friend Krystal gave me this book for my birthday and it demands slow reading…not my forte…but something I want to work on this year…reading isn’t a race although at times I just want to devour a book however, sometimes the language and the depth of writing doesn’t allow it.
Crazy Love-I had to lay this book aside for a time…to be honest there just was stuff that I didn’t want to face…ugh…read it and you will see…it took me awhile to pick this book back up after I felt so convicted…in a good way…but what a great book…so thought provoking…I won’t forget several phrases soon.
Praying the Names of Jesus-this will be part of my mornings…I am already loving it.
Venite-I hope this finds me all during the day and night…it’s not for everyone but I used it all last year and it has become such a treasure…at times when I had no words to pray…I could grab it and say the Office and find my True Center again…because I found God’s Words not my pitiful words…and that made all the difference.
Your Whole Life-to keep me on track…enough said…
Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics-just because Ina Garten rocks and I love good food…thanks Mom!
For the Love of God-I am still waiting for it to come in the mail…it’s a hard book to find…but I am really excited to begin the year with it as I read God’s Word.
I am sure this list will grow and change over the course of the year…I hope that I will remember to update often.
